Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a part of our family room that I’ve never blogged about before.
The family room, dining room and kitchen are truly the heart of our home. You can see the dining room and a tiny part of the kitchen counter in the picture below. I’ll be sharing more of those rooms soon.
It should come as no surprise that I change our decor around A LOT! I can’t help myself, I literally can not shut the decorating part of my brain off.
I don’t plan it this way, but every January after all the holiday decor comes down I end up completely restyling at least one room in our house. This year it’s the family room.
Today I thought it would be fun to show you how I styled our sofa table…for now. 😉
I bought the table a couple of years ago from World Market. Overall, I have been very pleased with it. (By the way, it’s currently on sale)
There are two hidden drawers at the top but after living with the piece for a while I’ve decided that I don’t want them to be “hidden” so I’m going to install black farmhouse pulls to give it a more rustic look.
The mirror is one that I’ve had for years. I bought it at Garden Ridge when we first moved into this house (Garden Ridge is now At Home). It used to be dark brown but I spray painted it off white to go with our decor better.
The lamps are a recent HomeGoods find.
You’ll notice that I still have to hang something on the wall behind Mr. Vale’s leather chair. I’m on the hunt for a Vintage/Antique Scroll Map. If you have any good sources for one let me know. You can also see a tiny part of our kitchen in the right corner.
So there you have it. It’s far from being done but I’m happy with the direction it’s going. Truthfully…no room in our home will ever be “done”. Each room is ever-changing and evolving but I wouldn’t have it any other way!!
